Goin' on a Witch Hunt

Last night, we decided to spend Family Home Evening with my parents up in West Jordan. We packed up the car, got Trevor from school, and headed up to have dinner at their house. We all enjoyed nice, hot...
Kenzi is always in good spirits when we visit there. I'm pretty sure that her favorite place to be is

Then we headed over to Historic Gardner Village where they have a witch festival every October. This is where the Scarecrow Festival originated way back in the day before it got so big and had to change location several times. It's pretty fun to see all the displays. We saw lots of witches. Some danced or hula-hooped, and some were just statues. Kenzi's favorite was the witch who lifts up her skirt to reveal a cat and mouse chasing around underneath.

Ashlin had to be extra bundled up since she's been sick for the last week. I'm not sure what she thought of the whole thing.....she was pretty emotionless about all of it.

Kenzi was a little bit nervous about the witches at first. They were big and little scary. But after a while, she loosened up enough to make

After we were all done shopping around the village and looking at all the fun things, Grandpa treated us all to

It was a very fun and Halloween-ish Family Home Evening! Even Ashlin had a little bit of fun....long enough for one happy picture.

Are YOU brave enough???

I must admit, I had to suck up some of my pride for this one.

All Natural ( no make up or doing your hair):

Yikes!

Dirtiest spot in your house:

You decide....they're both pretty bad.

Trev's desk:
or my junk basket on the kitchen counter:

Funniest thing in your house:

Right now it's this witch decoration. She laughs and spins around in circles. The girls think this is hilarious.
A Holiday decoration:

This is my fall barn star on the front door.

Worst Job:

Ugh, I HATE cleaning the bathroom. But don't worry, I deal with the disgust and clean it at least once a week.

Your Sink:

I despise this sink. Our landlords really need to make some updates to this place.

Where do you "Blog"?:

On my laptop right here on my couch. I can put a movie in for the girls and then sit right here with them while they watch and I blog.

Your Refrigerator:

Yeah, yeah. I know. It really needs a clean-out.

Favorite spot:

Mine and Trev's bed. Pretty sure this is the most comfortable bed in the whole world. Trevor picked out the bedding and brought it home without me even seeing it first. I'm just glad I have one of those few men with a little style.

Whew! That was intense. I tag Kaitlan.

Halloween Party Fun!

My cousin Chelsea has been planning a Halloween party for the last month, and she asked me to help out with some of the food and planning. So yesterday afternoon, we packed up the car and headed up to Millville for a spooky and fun Halloween..... It was fun for the girls to get dressed up a week early and show off their cute buggy costumes. Ashlin is a bumble bee and Kenzi is a lady bug.
All the kids arrived first, all dressed up in their adorable costumes. First, they all sat down and decorated rice crispie treat spiders (I think most of them ate more than they decorated, but that's the fun in it!)

Then they all got to decorate little pumkins with sparkly finger paints. Kenz got pretty creative....she loved this part!
All the little kids had so much fun doing these fun activities. Then they all came out on the floor and had their own little Halloween dance party! The kids did this all on their own, without any prompting from the grownups. It was pretty cute!

Once the kids tired of that, they went into the other room to enjoy fun Halloween movies and to play.

It was time for the rest of the adults to arrive!

All dressed up of course!
I wish I would have taken more pictures of the adult's costumes. There was an awesome costume of the Burger King man. I guess I was slacking a little...probably enjoying the party too much.

Then we all got to eat a wonderfully spooky dinner with soups in pumpkin bread bowls, crackers in green slime (spinach artichoke dip) Monster blood (raspberry punch) and lots of other creepy goodies. There was even a watermelon carved to look like a brain!

Then we all just hung out and chatted listening to music and stuff. They had movies going, but most people felt like just chillin and talking I guess.
I'm really glad we got to go to this party. It was fun to see Chels and her family again, and it was fun to meet all her other friends that were invited. Not to mention that all the kids absolutely LOVED it! They all left with goody bags stuffed with candy and toys and other fun prizes.

Great job Chelsea! Lookin' forward to next years' party!

Movie Night With Daddy!

It was Friday night, and we all wanted to do something fun. But it was getting late and we couldn't decide where to go or what to do. So, Daddy sent Mommy, Kenzi, and Ashlin into the other room for a few minutes to play, and when we came back out into the living room...... ...There was a gigantic bed waiting for us in front of the T.V.! Daddy had also gone to the store and bought us all our favorite treats to share! Kenzi and Ashlin climbed right up and settled in for the night.
Daddy put in Kenzi's favorite movie, "Sleeping Beauty" for us to watch while we pigged out and bounced around on the huge bed.
So, we all snuggled up and settled in for a fun movie night and family slumber party. The girls thought this was about the coolest thing in the whole world.
Trevor is so much fun, and he never fails to come up with a fun and cool way to have family night and entertain the girls. I'm pretty sure this will become a Peterson family tradition.
