Our Wonderful Man!

I don't know of any man who is as amazing as Trevor. He is such an incredible father to our children, and the most wonderful husband any woman could ask for. These last few months without a job have been so hard on him. He told me last night that his worst fear his whole life has been not being able to provide for his family. He's been living that fear for nearly 3 months now. But, as of Friday, that is no longer the case.
Last week, Trevor and his dad went out driving around town to look for a job for Trev (for the millionth time.) They decided to take a different approach this time, and did it just like missionary work; they would pray together and go wherever they felt inspired to go. As they were stopped at a traffic light, Trevor's dad happened to look off to the side of the road and notice the Walgreens store right there. He felt like it was very important for Trevor to go in and apply. The people in there told Trev to come back another day when the regional manager was in, which Trevor did. The manager was very impressed with Trev, but unfortunately he said he didn't have anything open. Trevor left a little depressed, but kept his good attitude and began applying for other jobs.

Then, on Wednesday, we got a surprise phone call. The regional manager called back and said "I know I just talked to you the other day and had nothing open, but somebody did something stupid, and now I need an assistant manager at our Lehi store, and you were the first person that came to mind. Can you come interview?" Of course Trevor said yes and interviewed. We were told that we'd find out by 1:00pm on Friday whether he got the job or not. Well, 1:oo came and went. 2:00, still no call. 3:45, and nothing. Trevor was sure at this point that he hadn't gotten the job. But, at 4:30pm, the guy called and offered Trevor the job! (Obviously Trev accepted.)

He'll be making more at this new job than he's ever made since we've been married. And, thanks to our friend Leslie, we also have additional income from Trevor's new paper route. We've been fasting and praying for so long that this would happen, and I truly believe that Trevor's father is an inspired man. This is nothing short of a miracle in my mind, and we are so very greatful. Trevor is such a hard worker and such a good man. We love him so SO much! Congratulations, Baby!

Cousins

My kids finally have a cousin! Meet Baby Braden, Megan and Lloyd's new baby. He was born exactly 3 weeks after Jamison. We're thinking they'll probably be pretty close since they were born so close together. It's amazing how much difference 3 weeks can make right now; Jamison looks a lot bigger than the new baby! But it won't be long till they can play together!
They certainly look different though; They both look like their daddy's!Thank goodness this part is over!
This part is much more fun!

A New Lifestyle

We're officially not invincible anymore. Since getting married almost two years ago, Trevor and I have both put on about 20 lbs each! Part of this for me has been the fact that I've had 2 babies during the two years, but a lot of it has to do with how we've been eating (although I guess I could take Trev's weight gain as compliment on my cooking!) However, we decided that we don't want to let it get out of hand and that we need to nip this one in the bud. So last night we went to the store and filled our shopping cart with completely different foods than we've been buying for the last little while. We came home, and rid our pantry of anything and everything that was unhealthy.
We got rid of {This}:
And replaced it with {This}:

Anything that looked like {Junk}:

Became things that look fresh and {Healthy}:
We've gone off soda completely, and there's almost no sugar left in our kitchen. Except, we did buy some of those 100 calorie packs of treats that they have in case we are desperate for something sweet. Trevor had a moment of sadness when he looked at all the yogurt, whole grain breads, and bottled water and vegetables that we'll be eating now, but I'm excited. Goodbye pounds!!!

It never ceases to amaze me.....

...How our children can grow so quickly from

To...
Or from a...
To a...

Or, even from...

To...

If I've learned anything from being the mother of these sweet children, it's that it all goes by so fast. It seems just yesterday that I was pregnant with my first little one, and here I am now with my third....and he's growing so quickly! Today Trevor pointed out that Jamison is already filling out his little preemie sized outfits. They grow so fast, and soon enough, it'll be all over. It's time to cherish the short time that they are still so little, and we as parents are still the heroes in their lives.

Blogs and Comments

As you know, I update our family blog frequently....almost daily. Trevor and I both have lots of friends and family who don't live near us, and we like to keep everyone up to date with the on-goings of our little family. We have our sister and my grandparents in Arizona, several aunts and uncles back east, my good friend in Boston, and tons of family down in St. George and Delta. Also my family up in Cache Valley who I see a bit more often, but still like to keep updated. Anyway, I've noticed that we get a lot of traffic here on our little page on a daily basis, but I'm not quite sure who all checks in on us. There are a few of you who leave comments pretty regularly, so I know when you visit. But a lot of the other traffic, I can only guess who you are! It's fun to know who's looking at it, so - mostly for my own humor - please leave a comment occasionally so I know! Ha ha! Just to say "hi" even. We love our friends and family, and like to know who's taking the time to check up on us =)

I had someone email me and tell me that they look at my blog almost every day, and I had no idea, because they've never left any comments! I also had someone say they didn't know how to do it......it's really quite simple:

*Go down to the bottom of each post where it says "0 comments" or sometimes "2 comments"
*Click on that, and it'll bring up another window with a comment box. Simply write your comment and push the button that says "publish your comment"

That's it!
Anyway, we'd love to hear from you all once in a while! Love you lots!

This week at the Peterson home....

Monday....

Remember Kenzi's yucky front tooth that was turning gray from falling and causing nerve damage?....the dentist said she needed a root canal after all. To make things easier on her (and mom) they decided to put her all the way out with anesthetic for the procedure. This is Kenz at the dentist's office at 5:40am before they took her back to do their work. (As you can see, Kenz was a bit nervous.) The end result, however, is fabulous! Her tooth looks SO much better, and you can't even tell from a distance that there was anything wrong. She was hilarious when she was coming off the medication at the dentist. She said a ton of funny things, but I'll just share the two funniest so I don't bore you. The first clear and audible thing she said when she was waking up was "Mom, I have a tounge!" The other funny thing: a couple hours later when she was trying to walk for the first time, she kept falling and exclaimed to my mom, "Woah, I'm soggy!"

Tuesday....

Ashlin LOVES Jamison! She is so gentle with him. And I must admit, she's a lot better with him than Kenzi is.
Wednesday....
St. Patrick's Day!
We all got dressed up in our cute green clothes (Kenz and Ash got green streaks in their hair and gold glitter spray too!) We headed up to Grandma's house to spend the day. Grandma taught the girls a cute St. Patrick's Day song to sing. Then we headed to the totally awesome West Jordan City park to have a picnic and play for a while.
Friday....
Grandpa's Birthday!!
We all went out to dinner at the Lone Star Steakhouse {yummy!}
Then we headed back to the house to open presents.

And eat cake!!It's fun to be out of the house a little more, and to be visiting Grandma at her house instead of ours for a change!
It was a fun week!

Today, we went back to Grandma's again and spent another day there. Chelsea and the boys came down to see us and play. Of course, I forgot to take any pics.

Update on life:

Everything is going great! We're all adjusting to having 3 kids in the fam. I have a new-found admiration for mothers of 3 and more. Having 2 kids was a breeze compared to this! No one was kidding when they warned me that 3 is way harder. While Kenzi has her moments of double-drama, and Ashlin is a bit more stubborn than before, they certainly continue to love our sweet Baby J. Trev is still looking for work, and I'm just here trying to keep from going nuts. Ha!

By the way, I've had an addiction to changing my blog layout lately. I know, I do it WAY too much. Sorry, I can't help it....it's my only current creative outlet.

I'll leave you with one more picture of our adorable new little one (in case you haven't seen enough!)

Help!

So, as you probably know, Trevor is out of a job again. We're hopeful for the future and for some upcoming interviews and things, but meanwhile, we still don't have an income. We really don't want to have to move out of our house or anything else like that, so Trevor has decided to start doing lawn and yard care services to earn a little money until we can find a good job that can support our family. If you, or anyone you know is in need of:
lawn aeration
mowing
fertilization
hedge trimming
repainting of curb house number
or
exterior window washing
Please call us!! We really appreciate all the help so many people have already given us, and we hate to ask for more. But at this point, we really REALLY need help spreading the word. Trevor is available to do these services basically any day or time right now, and he's offering free estimates for each yard. He can be reached by calling (801) 802-0782 or (801) 815-4668. Or just leave a comment here on the blog. Thanks everyone. We really appreciate it and love you!

A Sense of Family

Yesterday, Trevor and I were talking about our life and everything that's been going on with us. As we talked, our conversation kept coming back to one main point....how very lucky and blessed we are to have such amazing family and friends. From an uncle who is trying to help Trevor get a job at his company, to a wonderful friend who also helped us get a job that can help us. From amazing parents who are willing to help take our girls when times get tough and help provide for our family during these hard times, to countless cousins on both sides of our families who check in on us daily and bring meals. Even our home teachers and a family friend who also happens to be our doctor, who make random check-in calls to make sure we are alright. We are so fortunate that we are able to surround ourselves with such amazing people. It says so much about who we are and where we come from. And it says much more about all of you, who are truly blessings in our lives. All sides of our families are so supportive of each other and I just love that. So thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We love you all so very much and appreciate all that you've done for us. We probably don't even deserve half of what's been done for us these last several weeks. But we do want you all to know how very greatful we are for it. You are such wonderful people to be related to, and we couldn't ask for more!

??Confusion??

Life has a funny way of teaching us new things.
Yesterday, something happened that blind-sided us.
We never could have seen it coming.
We are left standing here in complete confusion and frustration.
Why is it that things can be going so well, and in a small moment of time, everything can change so drastically?
Times are hard.
Things are so hard for so many people right now, and all anyone can do is pray that it won't affect them personally.
I don't understand what Heavenly Father is trying to teach Trevor and I with all of this.
Right now it makes absolutely no sense to us.
But I do know that there is a much larger plan for everyone....so much bigger than we can see with our mortal eyes.
I know that I shouldn't worry.
Everything will be fine.
We will work through this -
Again.

Newborn Pictures

Today, my friend Leslie came over to do Jamison's newborn pictures. They turned out so cute! I couldn't wait till I get them all to show a few of them off, so I lifted them off her blog till then. Hee hee!
So here's a little preview.....

I'm telling you.....she's amazing at what she does! Visit her photo blog to see more of her work and for her price information!
(She's also having a contest that I would love to win, so it wouldn't hurt if you could leave a comment on her blog with your email, saying that you found her photo blog through me. It would really help me out! Thanks!)

Confined to the House!

I had to take Jamison back into the doctor yesterday as a follow up to his ER visit on Friday. Everything looks great! He's an awesome eater, and has already gained 14 ounces since he left the hospital. Almost a pound in just 3 days!! One thing the doctor did say is that we shouldn't take Jamison out anywhere except doctor visits for at least a month. So, if you don't see us for a while, that's why. We'll be confined to our little house for a few weeks. RSV season has been really bad and is still running kind of late in the year. We don't really want a ton of people around him, especially since he's such a little guy! His immune system is pretty weak since he was so early, so we especially don't want little kids around him and touching him. We don't even really let the girls hold him very much yet. My brother Kyle, who Jamison is named after, came over on Sunday and spent the day with us. He's so cute with Jamison, and you can tell they already have a special bond. As always, Kyle also played with Kenzi and Ashlin for a few hours. They LOVE him!

Megan and Lloyd also came to see Jamison, and brought us some dinner, which we REALLY appreciate!

Grammie and Papa have also come over a few times to see their new little grandbaby. They have been a huge help with food as well.

My mom has been at my house every day since the baby was born to help me out. I'll admit, I've been extremely overwhelmed with the thought of being the mother of 3 little kids. I'm used to Trevor being home to help me every day since he's been looking for a job for over a month. Now that he's gone, it's going to be a huge adjustment for all of us. Today is actually my first day at home without any help since Jamison was born. So far, I'm doing alright. Like I've said, we've had a lot of help from our parents and also from Brett and Kira, who've brought us meals a few times and watched our kids while we ran some errands. Everyone has just been so nice and helpful, and we appreciate it so so much!

Meanwhile, we're just getting settled into our life with our precious little Baby Jamison. We all love him so so much, and we're so thankful to finally have him here.
