Our Newest Little Addition

On Wednesday morning, I woke up to a little "pop!" My water had broken. We called our parents and had them come over to watch the girls while we got ready for the hospital. My labor was pretty quick. Only about 4 hours, and without much complication (besides the epidural being more painful than I've ever experienced before.) The doctor came in and told me to push two times.....then he said "Here's your baby!" Two pushes is a record low for me. Kyle Jamison Peterson was born at 1:44pm on February 25th 2009. He weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz, and was 19 inches long. He is named Kyle for my brother Kyle Wessman, and Jamison for Trevor's favorite uncle Jamison Moody. They didn't give him to me right away, because he was completely blue when he came out, and didn't breathe for a full minute after he was born. He was freezing too, so they had to keep him under lights to warm him up.I was SO happy when they finally handed him to me!
We had our little girls come in and greet their new baby brother.

They just adore him!

As does Trevor!

They kept him in the nursery for the entire first day and we didn't get to see him much. He had a lot of trouble regulating his temperature, and they couldn't let us see him until he was stable. After a thorough examination, the doctors determined that he was only between 36-38 weeks gestation, but closer to 36. He was almost 4 weeks early, and we had no idea! Because of this, he has a ridge in his head where his skull still needs to grow and fuse together, he still has white luango hair all over his little body, his lungs are still under developed and he makes little squeaks and hoarse cries instead of more powerful sounds. His nervous system is also a little premature, so he quivers a lot. And because of the temperature problem, he's always cold and HATES getting undressed!
Jamison is so tiny! We had a bunch of newborn sized clothes for him to wear when he came home, but we realized shortly after seeing him, that we were going to need much smaller clothes for him! For a little reference on size for you, the onsie on the right is a regular Newborn size....smaller than the 0-3 months size which usually fits newborns. And there's little Jamison on the left....there's no way that would have fit him anytime soon! Both my mom and Trev's mom surprised us with some adorable preemie clothes for Jamison to wear until he grows a bit more.

The girls were very excited for us to come home on Friday afternoon!

And they just LOVE their new baby brother!

There was a little scare a few hours after we came home. Jamison had blood in his urine, and after calling the doctor, they told us to go back to the Emergency Room for tests. Luckily, he's okay. Just small and irritated! We are so excited to be home and to start back into our lives with our new little blessing from Heavenly Father!

Ages 3 and Under are Free....Fine By Me!!

Today was an awesome day, filled with lots of fun! This morning Trevor and Dave took all the kids to a really cool park to play while Chelsea and I went shopping. Then, we came home and ate lunch while Trevor went to his second interview with Trade Home Shoes....
HE GOT THE JOB!!!!! We are SO thankful and relieved!
To celebrate, we decided to take the kids to... Kids ages 3 and under are completely free....even without a paying adult! They can run around and jump and play for as long as they want while parents just sit and watch. It's the best deal around if you have young kids. That meant all four of our kids played for 2 hours and we didn't spend a dime on them. Of course, Trevor can't just sit aside and watch. He's just a big kid himself!

The kids also had fun riding a few small rides (for the price of a few quarters.)

Even Ashlin played....a rare thing for her. She's so timid around other big kids. Especially when they're running around and being wild.

We ended the evening of play by eating at ....

Kids 3 and under are free here too! We've decided we need to take advantage of the "3 and under" deals for as long as we can. We can do a whole lot more for a whole lot less, that's for sure!

P.S. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us, helping us look for work, and keeping us in your thoughts. We really appreciate it more than you know, and we love you so much.

While we wait....

We're just sitting around biding time until our little baby decides to make an appearance, so Chelsea, Dave, Shayde, and Tailan came down to visit for a couple days. I love it when they do that! Chelsea has come down to visit during the last few days of every single one of my pregnancies. We joke that she's my good luck charm for labor, because every time she comes to be here when I have the baby, nothing happens. But the night that she leaves to go home, I magically go into labor and have the baby. So hopefully tomorrow night will be the night! Lol! They brought dinner to our house, which was SO nice since I don't feel like cooking anymore. And then we took the kids back to their hotel to swim. Once again, I couldn't get in the water, but it was fun to watch!

Kenzi had tons of fun swimming with Daddy. And she always loves it when her cousin Shayde comes to visit her. They're 6 months apart in age, so it's a lot of fun when he comes.

Ashlin isn't so sure about the swimming scene. She just kinda sits there and is a bit afraid of the bigger kids splashing her.
She was much happier after getting out of the pool and being wrapped up in towels.

Then we took the kids up to the room where they all warmed up and rinsed off in the bath tub!

It was so nice to have a bit of a distraction. We'll be playing with them for little bit tomorrow too before they have to head back up to Millville. I love it when my friends and family come to visit me during these last few days of being preggers!

P.S. I'm being induced on Friday!! Yay!!!

My Secret is Out!

Everywhere I go, people always ask me where I got the flowers, bows, and headbands that I put on my girls. Admittedly, we own WAY too many! But I can't help it.....my children are like life-sized barbie dolls for me! Hee hee! The truth is, I usually come up with an idea of what I want, and my unbelievably creative cousin makes them for me. She's very talented at it! (I can't tie a cute bow to save my life!) She started a company several years ago called Creatrix Stoodio, and I sold some of her stuff out of my dance studio for her, but as far as little girls' accessories go, she hasn't really sold a ton. I'm her biggest client, which isn't saying much since she's too nice and gives a good portion of it to me for free since my girls are her only form of advertisement. Anyway, we've finally put together a blog from which purchases can be made. It's very simple! Just go to the Creatrix Stoodio Blog, click on the button that says "order form," and fill out exactly what you want! We have flowers of all sizes, colors, and styles, darling bows for headbands or clips, and we're working on getting cute hats to clip flowers on too. Here's the best part....you can customize your clips and headbands to match ANY outfit! I do that all the time. We do have a ton of stuff already created and in stock that you can choose from too. Anyway, check it out! We try and keep our stuff pretty low in cost (...some boutiques we've researched sell one little clip for like $15! We won't be charging that much.) We will also be offering tutus for babies, toddlers, and little girls. Email creatrixstoodio@hotmail.com for any questions or price information. The only drawback for me is now anyone can get this stuff and it's not exclusive to me! Ha ha! Oh well.

PLEASE help me spread the word! Put a link to this site on your blog and help us let everyone know! Thanks guys! Love you all!

Playing Photo Catch-Up!

I've been procrastinating with uploading pics to my blog. I guess I've just been lazy lately with everything going on. But after talking to my sis Kaitlan who lives in Arizona on the phone the other day, I realized that I really haven't put many up lately. Especially of Ashlin. So, this is for you Kait!
Making Valentine's Day Cookies with Grandma!Grammy's Birthday Party!
This year, Trev's Aunts Evelyn and Annette got a hotel room for Grammy and Poppa to use for the evening before Grammy's birthday. But instead of having their own romantic evening, they invited the entire family to come over for room service, games, pizza, and swimming. All 14 of us that were in town crammed into the 1-bed hotel room and had a blast. I couldn't swim obviously (being dilated and all) but everyone else splashed around for a couple hours.
Valentine's Day Dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's
First, we all got spoiled with chocolate and gifts from Grandma and Grandpa
Then we enjoyed an AMAZING steak dinner, complete with a yummy Valentine's drink
Kenzi's first trip to the Dentist
A couple weeks ago, Kenzi fell down face first and bumped her mouth really hard. After a few days, I noticed her front tooth starting to darken and discolor. So, we took her in to have it checked, thinking that they would for sure extract the tooth. Much to my surprise, they kept the tooth saying that the nerve is just bruised. It may not look very pretty, but at least she still has it! Other than that injury, the dentist visit was perfect. No cavities!!

Our Silly Little Ashlin!
Every evening, my amazing husband rubs lotion on my extremely moisture-deprived legs and feet (since I can't exactly reach them anymore!) Yesterday, Ashlin was sitting next to me on the couch as Trevor performed this nightly ritual. After he finished, we heard her little voice say "Daddy.....feet??" We looked over to see that Ash had pulled up her pants to expose her legs and feet, and was patiently waiting for Daddy to give her a rub down! After we laughed for a moment, Trevor obliged, and Ashlin was very relaxed afterward!

P.S. If it seems that I have more pictures of Kenzi than Ashlin on here usually, it's because of their incredibly different personalities! While Kenzi will strike a pose for anyone, anytime, and anyplace, Ashlin will pout, and either look away, or run away as soon as she sees a camera. Good pictures of her are rare. So, sorry Kaitlan. I don't have very many that show how much she's growing, or how eerily smart she's become!

In the Wierd World of Me

Strange things that I think about frequently. I'm not sure why.

*5 years ago, I was still in high school worrying about silly things like Senior Prom. Trevor, on the other hand, was already home from his mission in Taiwan.

*My own little family is now larger than the family I grew up in.

*Somewhere out there, I have a 39-year old birth mother who would probably faint if she knew she had (almost) 3 biological grandchildren.

*Kenzi, at the age of 3, is only 7 pounds heavier than Ashlin who is 1.

*This is the first spring in over 10 years that I haven't been frantically preparing for Dance Competition Season.

*I was a teenager 3 years ago.

*When my parents were my age, they had only been married for 1 year and wouldn't adopt me for 11 more years. I, however, have been married, divorced, re-married, and given birth to almost 3 kids.

*My little brother hasn't actually been "littler" than me since I was like 12.

*I was supposed to go to Southern Utah University in 2004. If I hadn't changed my mind at the last minute, I wouldn't have ANY of my kids.

*Biologically, Kenzi and Ashlin are full sisters. Legally, they are only half-sisters. This new baby will be Kenzi's half-brother both legally and biologically, but he will be Ashlin's full legal brother even though biologically he will be her half-brother. Get it?? Yeah.

I decided to write this after I realized that ALL of these random things have gone through my head at some point today, and do almost daily. They all make me stop and say "Woah. Crazy."
I'm officially
tired of being sick.
And sick of being tired.
And sick and tired of being in
{{pure, pregnancy pain}}

Anyone have any ideas on how to self-induce labor?? I'm to that point now. Please, do share.

Pregnancy Update

I had my doctor appointment today.
Nothing is different.
My labor has not progressed.
Contractions are still frequent and pretty strong.
All my tests for infections were negative.
Everything looks fine.
My doctor is going out of town on Friday.
He told me to keep my legs crossed till he gets back =)
We'll see what happens....

P.S. Kenzi had her first dentist visit today.
She did SO well!!
If anyone's looking for a truly AWESOME pediactric dentist around here, this practice I found is AMAZING.

....On Such a Winter's Day

What am I dreaming of today??

Sunny days at the park... Warm afternoons boating on the lake...

Hot, sunny days at the water park...

Warm evenings watching the sunset....

Pleasant afternoons when I can send the girls out to play in our backyard all day long...

Ahh, those days truly cannot come fast enough!!
